Introduction to Research: Off-Campus Access to WPI Library Resources

How to Access Our Resources Off-Campus

How to Access Library Resources When You're Off-Campus

From off campus, all WPI faculty, students, and staff can access electronic resources through the Library website with their WPI username and password. As long as you have a WPI username and password, you will be able to access our resources directly.

You should be automatically prompted to log in to your account. If you are not asked to log in, you can add the following prefix to the beginning of the URL: "https://ezproxy.wpi.edu/login?url="

If you try this and are still have trouble accessing materials off-campus, please use our chat (click the chat icon on this page) for immediate help, as long as the library is open. You can also request assistance from a librarian via email at reslib@wpi.edu

Interlibrary Loan

If you need a resources that the library does not have, you can request that resource (whether it is a book, article, or other piece of media), you can request it through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). You can quickly set up an account and start requesting materials. You can arrange to have books and other media shipped directly to you, and shipments of returnable items will include prepaid shipping labels. Articles you request will come in your Interlibrary Loan account for you to download.

FullTextFinder

FullTextFinder

'FullTextFinder' is a WPI Library tool that connects users to the Library's journals and databases, and links to our Interlibrary Loan service when full text is not otherwise available.

You will see 'FullTextFinder' links in certain Library databases if we do not have the full text of the article in that database. You can also configure your Google Scholar settings to allow for FullTextFinder, which means if the Library has the article, the FullTextFinder link will take you directly to that resource.

To do this, go to scholar.google.com and into the settings. Then click on Library Links, and search for Worcester Polytechnic Institute - FullTextFinder@WPI (the second option in the image below). Check this choice, and that will enable FullTextFinder. This will work both on- and off-campus.
