Advocacy Organizations
Along with individual efforts to reduce carbon use, political action is also considered a critical part of the solution.
Named for the amount of carbon (350 parts per million) considered safe for long-time sustainability on earth. We are now at 400 ppm. 350.org uses online campaigns, grassroots organizing, and mass public actions to oppose new coal, oil and gas projects, take money out of the companies that are heating up the planet, and build 100% clean energy solutions that work for all. 350's network extends to 188 countries. This is a very active advocacy group.

The Nature Conservancy’s mission is to "conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends." The Nature Conservancy takes a scientific approach to conservation. It pursues non-confrontational, pragmatic solutions to conservation's challenges working with partners including indigenous communities, businesses, governments, and other non-profits.
FOE is an outspoken leader in the environmental community. It seeks to change the perception of the public, media, and policymakers, and effect policy change with hard-hitting, well-reasoned policy analysis and advocacy campaigns that describe what needs to be done, rather than what is seen as politically feasible or politically correct.
