WR 1011: Writing About Science & Technology: Scholarly Journal Articles

What are databases?

Databases:

  • Are online collections of published works

  • Help you find information sources, such as journal articles, conference papers, and books/ebooks

  • Are searchable

  • Provide citation information (author, title, publisher, date, etc.)

  • Often provide full-text access to sources

WPI Library Search

The WPI Library Search allows you to search across most of the library's resources at once. It is a search tool that provides access to a broad range of information . It helps you find books, scholarly journal articles, news articles, project reports, and more.

To find peer reviewed articles, type your keywords into WPI Library Search, and then choose the filter for Peer-Reviewed Journals on the left.

Only Finding a Citation? Get the Full Text

Within most databases, click on the FullTextFinder link to get options for obtaining the full text of the article.

Can't Find the Full-Text of an Article? Request It through ILL!

Our Interlibrary Loan service allows WPI students and faculty to request items from other libraries free of charge.
