The Company of Biologists TA/Read & Publish Agreement (2026-2028)

Overview

Fee-free Open Access publishing for corresponding authors: Corresponding authors can publish an uncapped number of Open Access research articles in a Company of Biologists five-journal package without paying an article processing charge (APC).

Unlimited access to journals and their archives: Unlimited access to three transformative journals – Development, Journal of Cell Science and Journal of Experimental Biology – and their archives dating back to 1853 is available.

Five journal package: Three transformative journals (Development, Journal of Cell Science and Journal of Experimental Biology) plus the fully Open Access journals (Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open).

Eligibility

• WPI corresponding authors can publish as OA articles for free in three transformative journals (Development, Journal of Cell Science and Journal of Experimental Biology) plus the fully Open Access journals (Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open).
• Automatic recognition of corresponding authors and straightforward submission process
   

License Used

• CC BY 4.0  open access license
• Uncapped fee-free publishing of Open Access research articles for all corresponding authors under CC BY licence terms, with authors retaining copyright in the three transformative journals plus the Open Access journals – Disease Models & Mechanisms and Biology Open
