Specific protocols to keep in mind when working at the library:
- There are panic buttons in place under the information desk. Please become acquainted with their locations, but do NOT fiddle with them unless there is an emergency. This switch is a silent alarm, if pulled campus police will come.
- Each floor also has emergency buttons, they are large and red. Again, please only press these in the case of an emergency.
- At the end of each closing shift please call Campus Police at x5433 to let them know the building is locked up. In the case of an emergency, call x5555.
- There are two meeting locations when the building needs to be evacuated: Boynton lot by the fence, or at the fountain in front of the Campus Center.
- If there is a tornado or hurricane warning, DO NOT go outside. The safest place during an active tornado is the service level (the floor with the loading dock and back exit). If you cannot get to this floor, go to the ground floor and stay away from the windows.
